Micro Maxi LED review

More room for the next adventure.

We recommend the Maxi LED for children who have moved beyond the Mini’s fit and still enjoy a lean-to-steer scooter. Its taller handlebar range suits the next stage of riding, with battery-free light-up wheels.

Micro Maxi LED
Our take

The sensible step up when your child needs the larger fit. Choose the standard Maxi LED if folding is not part of your routine; compare the separately named foldable version if storage space is tight.

A bigger fit, with a familiar approach

The Maxi LED keeps the three-wheel, lean-to-steer format but moves to a taller size. Micro lists this model for ages five to twelve and gives a handlebar range of 26.25 to 35.75 inches from the ground. That makes it a more relevant shortlist choice for a child who has physically outgrown a Mini.

Read the exact model name

Micro sells several Maxi versions, and storage features differ. This review is for the Maxi LED, not the Maxi Foldable LED. If you expect to fold the scooter into a small car boot or hallway cupboard, compare the named foldable model before buying. Small wording differences in a product title can change how well a purchase fits the routine.

Make the upgrade at the right time

A larger scooter is not automatically a better first scooter. We would keep a smaller child on a model that fits now, rather than choosing a taller model simply for more years of possible use. For older riders, the Maxi’s adjustment range offers useful room to grow while staying within the manufacturer’s guidance.

What stands out

  • Taller handlebar range for older riders
  • Familiar lean-to-steer format
  • LED wheels work without batteries

Worth considering

  • This standard LED version is not the foldable model
  • Smaller children may be better matched to the Mini

A few good questions.

Does the standard Maxi LED fold?

Micro offers a separately named Maxi Foldable LED. Do not assume the standard Maxi LED has the same folding feature.

What is the main difference from a Mini?

The Maxi has a taller handlebar range and is listed for older children. Use the actual measurements and your child’s fit to choose.
